Coupling Fitting
A fitting that allows two separate lengths of corrugated stainless steel (CSST) to be connected to each other.
Elevated Pressure System
A CSST system that operates above the normal pressure of 7 inches w.c.
Gas Cock
A type of valve that provides positive, quick flow control on gas piping systems.
Manifold
A device that allows one CSST pipe to be branched off to multiple outlets.
PSIG
Pounds Per Square Inch Gauge (PSIG) is a unit of measure used to specify the maximum operating pressure for a gas system.
Regulator
A device used in elevated pressure system to reduce the gas pressure before the pipe outlet.
Regulator Stub-Out
A stub-out for use with a regulator.
Straight Fitting
A fitting used to attach a length of CSST to an appliance or other device.
Striker Plate
A manufactured metal plate of a required thickness that is installed behind a wall to protect the CSST from penetration by nails.
Stub-Out
A device mounted in a finished wall, floor, or ceiling that serves as a fixed connection for an appliance or other device.
Tee Fitting
A fitting that allows a branch to be taken off from a main gas line.
Water Column
Water column (w.c.) is the unit of measure used to specify the standard pressure of a gas system.
