    Is it better to have a team leader around on every task a team member has to accomplish?

    Day shift offers more services to patients than night shift, however it should not be assumed that the services provided are not important to patient care. Therefore why should resources, staffing levels and skill mix be reduced to at least half, is this not putting good quality of care at risk?

    Factors influencing productivity : number of staff ratio on shift and how many patients will be assigned to each individual nurse. limited resources can be challenging and affects the number of members available. night shift staffing levels are different to that on dayshift and nightshift can be as challenging as a day shift. Skill mix and experience of staff members should be considered when evaluating productivity.

    This team leader section covers so much and in so many different ways however it does remind us that we should all be very aware, follow what jobs we are set out to do on our assignments for the shift, the need to carry out our duties correct and effeiciently also the importance of patient care and how important team working is then to provide all duties clear and consice to show what has been done for staff to know on next shift. A team leader is a critical member of staff for both staff and patients.
