The past perfect is of the form had + past participle. It is used for stories and to describe two completed actions where the earlier completed action is written in the past perfect form. Examples) She ate the pie after she had cooked it. He had remembered to cut the grass before he went to the party. She had cut her hair then she went to dinner.
