St. Peter's Square is a massive Plaza located directly in front of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City, the papal enclave inside Rome. In the center of the square there is an Egyptian obelisk, erected at the current sit since 1586. The person who designed it was Gian Lorenzo Bernini by the order of Pope Alexander VII. As an appropriate forecourt, designed was needed so the people can see the pope give his blessing. I found that to be very interesting, with magnificent beauty and awe-inspiring. To me I believe to be very close to God.
