    The tempered scale which you are presenting with the octave divided into 8 equal parts is not the first scale that was developed. Although it accommodates the piano well it does not work well for other string instruments. A perfect fifth should have a frequency ratio of 3/2 but with the tempered scale the fifth is not this exact ratio of the frequencies. The tempered scale gives an approximation and the difference when playing a fifth is a slight degree of disharmony.

    in the question on augmented and diminished intervals you have a Ab and G# as a diminished second but these are the same note, shouldn't it be Ab and G natural for the diminished second interval ?

    How is an augmented 3rd inversion a diminished 6th. For example; Using the key of C, the augmented 3rd would be a C and an F(as it's 1half step higher than the 3rd), correct?. So, if you invert one of the notes, aren't you left with a perfect 5th?

    i really do not understand how to make perfect thirds, fourths and fifths. i really do not understand the concept
