Variety:- There should be good variety in all training programs, otherwise things get boring and chances of sticking to a program become diminished.Training methods: interval - sprint, short, long circuit continuous fartlek plyometrics weight training flexibility training, e.g. static, dynamic, PNF, etc. b. Principles of frequency, intensity, specificity and duration and their application to each of the training methods. c. Advantages and possible disadvantages of each training method.

    Variety:- There should be good variety in all training programs, otherwise things get boring and chances of sticking to a program become diminished. Summary Below is a summary of what you need to know: a. Training methods: interval - sprint, short, long circuit continuous fartlek plyometrics weight training flexibility training, e.g. static, dynamic, PNF, etc. b. Principles of frequency, intensity, specificity and duration and their application to each of the training methods. c. Advantages and possible disadvantages of each training method. d. Relate the training methods to various sports; that is, indicate the most appropriate training method(s) for a sport of your choice. e. Be able to discuss why some methods of training would be more appropriate than others in developing fitness components and energy systems.
