Health and Human Development - Interrelationship of different aspects of
development
Interrelationship of different aspects of development
Brain scan as positron emission tomography.
Development occurs within a complex series of interactions. [1]Any one
aspect of development does not occur in isolation, although not all aspects
of development occur in a similar pattern. For example brain and head
development is most rapid from the age of two to eight years and the
development of the reproductive organs is most rapid between 12 and 18
years. The range of interactions produces large variations in growth and
development.
Growth and development of the brain (physical) lead to changes in mental
abilities (intellectual) like reasoning, memory and relationships with
people and objects. These abilities allow the child to make better personal
and social adjustment (social).
Speech means a child can explain and satisfy its wants (emotional). It
also has a direct impact on academic achievement (intellectual) and social
development (social).
Speech allows an individual to learn approved behaviours, roles and
attitudes (social) which facilitates interaction and play opportunities
which in turn promotes appropriate motor skills (physical), learning
(intellectual) and self-concept and self esteem (emotional).
