rainfall made sufficiently acidic by atmospheric pollution that it causes environmental harm, typically to forests and lakes. The main cause is the industrial burning of coal and other fossil fuels, the waste gases from which contain sulfur and nitrogen oxides, which combine with atmospheric water to form acids.

They're asking us to discuss? Well I'll just say I didn't know Bases were also corrosive like Acids

Acids and bases are corrosive. The ph scale shows how acidic or alkaline a substance is by measuring the hydrogen ion concentration in a solution. Acids have a ph of less than 7, while bases have a ph greater than 7. Acid-base indicators are used to determine if a substance is an acid or a base.

Readings on the universal Ph scale that are lower or descending are considered Acidic and readings that are higher or ascending are considered Alkaline .

Are they asking for us to offer comments for discussion? THe pH scale shows how acidic or alkaline/basic the solution is. Acid the compound which gives H+ ions in aqueous solution and alkaline give OH- ions in aqueous solution. Acidic pH is below 7 and for Alkaline, pH is above 7. The higher the value, the higher the Alkalinity. The indicator is used to indicate that either the solution is acid/basic or neutral.
