    1. define 'magnification', 2. explain how to calculate magnification, 3. show how to determine the field of view for a particular magnification, 4. show how to determine the size of a magnified object and 5. explain in simple terms whether there are differences in cell sizes within an organism and between organisms. Magnification is how much larger an object appears compared to its real size. If an object is magnified by a factor of five (x5) then it will appear five times as large as its real size.
