Measurement Terminology. The high quality is achieve by planning for it rather than by reacting the problem after they are identified. standard are chosen and the processes are put in placed to achieve those standard during the execution phase of the project, service and products are sample and measured or examined to determine if the quality is within control limits for requirement and analyzes causes for variation by quality control group. The choice of tolerance is directly affecting the cost of quality (COQ) control . Defining and meeting the client expectation. Client provide specification for the project that must be met for the project to be successful by inviting clients for the project meeting to improve on project quality and develop the recovery plan. Source of planing for quality project. planing for quality project is part of the initial planing process. Early Scope Budget Risk Analysis is used to determine which of the risks the project faces could affect the quality. Schedule estimate Technique Several tools and techniques are available for planing and controlling the quality of the project and are used to determined the project complexity and quality management program by the clients. The quality management methodology. The quality management methodology required by the clients and the project managers are: Flow charting, Benchmarking, when products like shoes are made by hands and artisan would seek some degree of standardization of different lengths and sizes of the products is done by competitors and planners. cost to benefit analysis, because the cost of prevention is part of the project budget and by increasing the project budget to raise quality. design of experiments is measuring for quality of manufactured product quality or use of repetitive processes requires taking samples for testing experiment and collecting data for analysis during the execution phase. Control charts if some of the function of the project is repetitive, statistical processes to keep the trends and control limit. Causes and Effect Diagram when control chart indicates an assignable cause for the variation and it is not easy to identify the problems. Check sheet,Histogram, Pareto Chart when several quality problems need to be solved by project manager and data can be collected by the above chart methods. Statistical control terms that are commonly used are tolerance (the range between control limits ) . flowchart a diagram showing decision and loop) branches . Benchmarking (comparison to best practice ) fish bone diagram shows possible causes of quality problems Check sheet form used to record frequency of problem occurrence. Histogram columns that show frequency problem Pareto Chart is Histogram shorted by frequency from highest to smallest with a line that shows the total cumulative problem The quality planning process uses initial scope, budget and schedule to identify area that need quality management Control of quality in repetitive processes uses statistical control methods that involve designing ,testing while considering cost of quality, taking measurement and then analyzing data using run charts that show control limits and trends. Methodologies are compared to the best practice by competitors which is called Benchmarking Errors are documented using check sheet and analyze using fish-bone, histogram diagram and Pareto Charts. The product of planning and controlling quality are quality management plan, data, analysis documents and proposal for management.

As always planning and controlling should not be forgotten, because in planning we need to know the specific aim or purpose and mapping out a program or method beforehand for accomplishment of the goal, controlling follows in accordance with the plan which is the function of all managers at all levels and its basic objectives is to ensure that the task to be accomplished is appropriately executed.
