    Equity ratios represents the relationship between owner's equity and total assets or total capital employed. This is the measure of financial strength or weakness of the enterprise. If the owner's equity is a small proportion of the total assets or capital employed the the enterprise may be considered financially weak and vice versa. Dividends are payout that some companies make to shareholders that reflects the company's earnings. This is done quarterly and it gives shareholders a steady return, regardless of what happens to the stock price.

    Dividends ratios are the percentage of earnings paid to shareholders in dividends.
