This video cleared up a lot for me, such as, how to tell how much a share is actually worth and whether buying it at a certain price is a good bargain. You simply divide equity by # of shares. The person who sold their share for $2.58 did not make a good decision since, based on the company's reports, shares are worth a little more. The person who bought the share made a good decision as it seems the company is doing well, and looking at the 52 week range, buying a stock and keeping it for this company has created a profit. I am still trying to understand why the market cap would belittle the company's reports of it's own equity. Is it just based on the person who sold it? If someone has sold it at a higher price, would that change the market's perception?

That when one purchases shares they become art owner of a company.

to buy shares in a company is to by a part ownership of the company and that the value of the shares is calculated by taking a look at the books of the company. the company's books would give you the assets, liabilities of the company and with that you can calculate the equity value of the company. So when you by shares in a company, you are buying part of the equity value of the company. The price of each share would be calculated by taking the equity value and dividing it by the number of shares that was issued. So if the equity amount was $1000 000 and there is $1000 000 shares issued, the share price would be $1
