The lever house is one of the first seminal glass building in N.Y.C. It was build in 1952. The building would've been around about 30 to 40 years old. It is about 307 foot tall building with innovative courtyard, with public space. That been said back in 1961, New York City passed Zoning Laws which prevent new skysers from overwhelming the street. The building has a heat-resistant glass and stainless curtain wall, which help reduce the cost of operating and maintaining the property. It also has no operating windows. It is pretty amazing the way the how lever house was built only for commercial purposes or business purposes.
