    The Gesu, Rome was one the magnificent churches that I ever seen, that been said it play a pivotal role in the Counter-Reformation, which the Catholic Church's response to the Protestant Reformation of Martin Luther. It was designed to reassert the power of the church, standardize the training of local priests, stimutate pious devotion, and even to the point to wipe out any corruption within the church itself by Luther's movement.
