You will know when you have found the right foundation because it will feel light on your skin and it looks natural. You should not see the foundation on your skin. It will be important to think about what you will need the foundation for. Do you want it for everyday use or a night on the town? This module will help you choose the right foundation for your clients. Being able to match your client’s skin tone and skin type to the right makeup is important. You will not only have to make sure that the foundation matches their skin almost perfectly, but you will have to use the right type of foundation for their skin type. Plus, you will need to make sure that you match the right colours for their outfit and for their skin tone. Certain colours work great with some skin tones and horrible with others. You want to find just the right mix, so that you can create the perfect look. When you are first starting off, you don’t have to purchase every liquid foundation colour. You can get a darker one and a lighter one and then mix them to match your client’s skin tone. However, this can be tricky if you don’t mix enough of the foundation and you have to try to do it all over again. Therefore, start really small and then add a little of each, keeping in mind the amount you will need for full coverage. Tinted moisturizers give the most natural look. However, they will not cover imperfections very well, so you will need to apply a concealer first. The following is a list of foundation base formulas and their uses: A liquid foundation is great for use during the day and can provide light coverage; A cream liquid foundation is great for totally covering the skin and provides medium coverage. It is used mostly for night wear or when coverage is important; A cream powder compact is perfect for touching up the makeup; A stick is used for handy application because you can apply the makeup right from the stick; A high-pigment base gives the most coverage but is heavy for use every day.
