Well, I think that if you use a lot of games and activities it will be easier for students to learn.

The first step in teaching is to teach phonics and this is normally done at a young age but how can you make phonics fun for an adult who has never learned the new language?, as most adults don't like doing exercises designed for kids.

The reality is that in most schools in the U.S.A. You learn the sounds, spelling, and writing of words through usage. It's not as if you learn the International Phonetic Alphabet unless you study to be an English teacher, but I enjoyed this topic.

Phonological processing is an auditory processing skill. It relates to words, but occurs in the absence of print. It involves detecting and discriminating differences in phonemes or speech sounds under conditions of little or no distraction or distortion. Attention! A student with phonological processing needs may have difficulty in one of many different detection or discrimination tasks involving speech sounds in words.

Show me the word and Minimal pairs games are two very good activities for students' to engage in.They are learning through the use of games.Games are a very useful within the classroom and make learning fun.A very good segment which I benefited from and can transfer over to English lanhguage learners.

What is most important being able to understand the rules of a language or being able to speak a language? or is it just the personal choice of the English language learner.
