This is a very interesting read and helps me understand a little more on the topic of mental health. I agree that a combination of both medication and therapy can help an individual to lead a more productive life.

i wonder though that with a growing number of patients needing mental health services isn't there guaranteed to be drug abuse and what measures can be put in place to curve the practice considering that the patient can him or herself start abusing their medication and in extreme cases sell it.

I found the course interesting. I do believe that part of the therapeutic process includes talk therapy, intervention strategies as well as psychotropic medications.

in my own experience in care giving, yup it's true and effective that understanding, talking w/ the patient, providing not only his/her basic needs but to provide and give them special attention , (from the family and from a caregiver), as well as medical treatment will help a lot.
