Students with ADHD could be very challenging for teachers, if they don't have previous experience with them.

Teachers of students suffering from ADHD are faced with a sensitive problem, the student needs to be motivated and stimulated. Very difficult task.

I strongly recommend faith-based healing methods otherwise known as Belief Therapy for students with (ADHD) for total cure. Administering drugs on them only provides temporary relapse. Belief Therapists majority of whom double as counsellors and ministers of the gospel with healing gifts, attributes and techniques may be engaged by schools to complement the usage of drugs on affected students.

Sometimes the strategies suggested in this module do not work with ADHD students. I know for my own experiences. What else can I do ? I think that the use of Ritalin is not bad and helps the student, however, this is not a cure and somerhing else must be done with its treatment.

Over-use of Ritalin and other similar medications can end with opposite effects, ie. a drooling stuporous student. Medication must be used cautiously, monitored closely, and combined with behavior modification. The decrease of phys ed and intermittent activity has increased the problem as well. As teachers, providing all students with intermittent activity breaks, improves learning and decreases heightened classroom activity/fidgeting. Often there are many home based issues that contribute to the child's behavior. When I was a child this was not a diagnosis, but there were increased activities during the day. Chunking and scaffolding information helps the student to learn in bits and pieces, while decreasing distractions can also help. Positive reinforcement is also beneficial.
