Behaviour in the classroom is really difficult for teachers and teaching assistants when you are trying to keep the other pupils on track.

i THINK THE HARD PROBLEM WITH BEHAVIOURAL DISORDERS is that you have to be so alert... I was with a little boy who was overly affectionate and I knew that this would have a down side. So I said no kisses are for Mummy... later on in the playground because I did not want to fall on the bean bag this same boy slapped me so hard round the head.... It's very hard to predict behaviour and when problems might occur. I have had a little boy get told off for doing something by the teacher and burst out crying not because of this but because of something that happened yesterday or in the morning

My experience of dealing with children that hurt or behave inappropriately has been to explain to them why that was not fair... With other children this might not work... How else can we let children know that certain behavior is not appropriate? I know we can use pictures, facial expressions, sign language but is there another way that is productive in a classroom setting? And what do we do if a child is screaming and is physically hysterical?

Behavioural Disorders inappropriate behaviour were students may seek attention while other students might be aggressive, distractible or overly active, seem anxious, withdrawn or discconnected from reality problematic behaviour is extreme ,unwanted sexual advances, vandalism in this case the student may be classified with ADHD or learning disabilties

Would you assist me on how to help a student I am working with. His biggest problem is how to approach the opposite sex classmates. He doesn't know to limit personal space and some girls are finding it hard to work with him. I have tried all ways of helping him but still the habit continues.

The chapter " Behaviour in the classroom" is the most difficult to handle with for all teachers. Most times the teacher doesn't know or doesn't care to learn why a student behaves inappropriately in the classroom. In other words, the usual tactic of a teacher is punishing the disruptive student instead of discussing with him/her WHY he/she behaves like that. But this is the first step when having to cope with behavioural problems in your classroom or generally.

What kind of attention is a child seeking by disrupting a class? My opinion is the child disrupts the class at time because they are not interested with the lesson plan of the class.

This is a very common contion in many children in many schools but like what was mentionsed, some schools may think that it may not be serious enough to be classified as a disorder thereby failing to give supprt needed to help the children displaying the condition.
