By using manipulatives and/or student assist within the classroom, it would help Sarah in all aspects of learning on the correct way to do the math. Also, by using praise when she completes the work correctly even if the teacher starts out praising her after completing 5 problems

the possibilities might be that Sarah is facing the problem due to lack of understanding and inappropriate support from some elder.

It is important to support and encourage all children with learning disabilities. Extra time in helping to better improve their learning abilities is important.

This might be a product of many factors. If the concept of unit, ten and hundred was not properly taught, the problem of carrying over from unit to tens. In a nut shell the general concept of place value should be carefully handled.

Teacher can use manipulatives to show her the addition of units.e.g how 10 single manipulatives when added becomes '10' and ' 0' goes to unit place and '1' goes to tens place. This will help the child learn both visually ,and also kinesthetically .By giving more practice this concept will be reinforced.

These strategies can work. The problem is often not when it comes to the written work but rather when mental arithmetic is involved. The reaction of class mates in a public forum can lead to ridicule. The teacher must be careful to coach Sarah unobtrusively

This is a prime example when the term "blended" learning and assessment could be utilized. Acknowledge Sarah's strengths and her ability to master a technique, yet not show that mastery through a traditional paper pencil assessment, or a standard online multiple choice assessment. Rather, have the teacher blend the assessment with some paper portfolio examples of work and her own observational notations.

I think that a lot of practical work is also needed to understand what the questions are really asking, as well as teaching her to think about how reasonable her answers are, although her answers seem correct she does need to understand what the question is asking and not just to add the numbers. there are different activities you can do with sarah in relation to number to help her
