Work, energy and power
This resource examines work, energy and power. It covers: heat and sound,
gravitational potential energy, conservation of energy, kinetic energy and
work. Let's begin with heat and sound.
These both involve, in part, the kinetic energy  of molecules and
atoms. When a piece of metal is heated, the energy transferred to the metal
appears as the increased kinetic energy of the metal atoms. Sound moves
through the air as a result of the vibrations of air molecules.
