Cysteine enables the disulfide links [1] that are part of the shaping of
hair. Methionine provides the sulfur associated with the distinctive smell
of rotting eggs.

Amino acids are classified as or Essential amino acids cannot be
manufactured in the body and must be included in the diet. Protein
containing the essential amino acids is considered high quality protein.
