Potassium permanganate KMnO4 is a redox primary standard.

(a) Describe, including relevant calculations, how one litre of 0.0200 M
KMnO4(aq) could be prepared from solid potassium permanganate.

(b) In an analysis to determine the percentage, by mass, of iron in a
sample of steel wool, the iron is first converted to Fe(aq) ions which are
then oxidised to Fe(aq) ions by titration with an acidified solution of
KMnO4(aq). The MnO4(aq) ions are reduced to Mn(aq).

Write a balanced ionic equation describing the titration reaction.
