The mole concept and gases - the general gas equation
There are four measurable quantities associated with gases:
mass - _m_, pressure - _p_, volume - _V_, and temperature - _T_.
When relationships between these variables are established, the number of
moles, _n_, is more significant than the mass, _m_.
Relationships between pairs of these variables for samples of gases have
been widely investigated.
The general gas equation can readily be transformed to make _p_, _V_ or
_T_ the subject of the relationship.
