Universal indicator

Universal indicator is a mixture of several indicators whose change in
colour depends upon the pH of the solution into which it is placed. It can
be used as a solution or soaked into paper. The colour change helps us to
determine the pH of the liquid.

Universal indicator is a more accurate measure of pH than litmus paper.
Universal indicator gives a number of colour changes depending on the
strength of the acid or base (see diagram below).
