Biology - Arthropods

Arthropods

Few are pathogenic. Psyllids (lerps) in their larval stages and some
flies, wasps and thrips cause plant tissue to form galls or swellings. Many
arthropods are parasitic; e.g. fleas, ticks, mites, aphids, lice and some
wasps.

Leaf galls: plant tissue that grows around parasitic insect larvae

Flea: a parasite with specialised structures and behaviour that allows
it to reach new hosts
