Rafflesia: a tropical parasitic plant. It produces giant flowers (up to
1m across)

* the largest flower in the world, Rafflesia, looks and smells like
rotting meat, attracting flies for pollination. It has no stems or leaves,
but is totally parasitic on stems of certain vine species

* there is a large surface area in relation to volume for gaseous
exchange and absorption of dissolved nutrients from the gut (for example,
liver fluke) or blood
