Biology - Enzyme information
* Metabolic disorders result from non-activity of enzymes or interruption
to their activity. Many metabolic disorders are genetically inherited;
while others are due to poor diet or other factors.
* Some enzymes are located in specific parts of the cell, in specific
organelles (e.g. respiratory enzymes in mitochondria) and in specific
organs (e.g. ureases in the liver).
* enzymes occur within the cell. enzymes are produced within the cell
but carry out their function outside the cell, for example: digestive
