Biology - Cellular Respiration - Introduction
Cellular Respiration - Introduction
Cellular respiration is essential for all living things. It is the means
by which energy is made available to the cell by a series of many chemical
reactions. Each stage is catalysed by a particular enzyme. [1] (17 kJ/g)
is the most common molecule used as the starting point for cellular
respiration, but (17 kJ/g) and (39 kJ/g) can also be used as energy
sources. In extreme conditions (starvation), (22 kJ/g) are used as an
energy source.
