Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm is the name given to everything in the cell apart from the
nucleus [1] and the cell membrane. It is within the cytoplasm that most of
the cell's chemical reactions occur.

Most of the cytoplasm is a "jelly-like" substance. Many important
reactions take place in this jelly-like substance. There are also numerous
small structures called organelles [2] that carry out specific functions.
