    The sleep process including the REM are necessary to obtain a healthy mental and physical adjustement in life

    Basicly there is no difference between an alcoholic and a person who deprives themselves of sleep. Although sleep deprivation may not be of choice depending on the commitments they have in their life.

    When research subjects are constantly awoken when in REM sleep and are deprived of REM sleep over successive nights, they appear more tense, irritable and more anxious than subjects deprived of the same amount of sleep but not REM sleep. Lack of REM sleep appears to affect our ability to concentrate and remember. When allowed to sleep uninterrupted, subjects experience REM rebound. That is, they spend twice as much time in REM sleep as normal to make up for the REM sleep lost. This indicates that REM sleep is vital for our survival.

    This could result in many ways - depression of a loss one would make a person loss their concentration Lack of sleep and also result loss of memory, balance and blur vision Would it help to make up the loss time of sleep? Even if you had an hour power nap

    Sleep deprivation can cause you to be. Confused, tired, lack of concentration and headaches.Its best that you get a goodnight sleep the night before you go to work.

    Sleep deprivation can cause many symptoms - emotional, distractable, low concentration, low mood, some people experience manic moods, high blood pressure, stress, and over tiredness which causes insomnia.

    I changed work hours and found that my sleep patterns were effected. So much so that while working I was ok but as soon as I got home, tiredness, concentration plus low energy hit me. Quick naps sorted me out until I got use to my new hours.
