Characteristics of Kingdom Plantae
The majority of plants possess tissues called xylem and phloem.
Xylem is a series of dead cells that transport water and mineral ions up
the plant. Phloem transports mineral ions, sugar (i.e. sucrose) and amino
acids up and down the plant. Most plants are autotrophic and all plants
are eukaryotes.
