Travel Demand Management
Travel Demand Management (TDM) describes the strategies and policies aiming to achieve more efficient use of transportation resources and to reduce travel demand by giving priority to public transit, car-sharing, car-pooling and so on. It puts focus on the movement of people and goods, rather than on motor vehicles.

Classification of TDM
TDM measures can be broadly classified into the following types:
Push Measures: They are the measures that discourage the use of cars.
Pull Measures: They are the measures that encourage the use of alternative transports.

Parking
Parking is the act of stopping and disengaging a vehicle and leaving it unoccupied. There are two types of parking facilities namely On-Street and Off- Street parking facilities.

Methodology of Parking Studies
Inventory of existing parking facilities
Identification of parking generators
Collection of data on various parking parameters
Measuring Parking demand

Transit Oriented Development
Transit Oriented Development is a type of urban development that maximizes the amount of residential, business and leisure space within walking distance of public transport. It promotes a symbiotic relationship between dense, compact urban form and public transport use.
