India鈥檚 TechEquity Initiative Empowers Women with Alison Online Learning

Wednesday, 17th September 2025

Alison has announced a strategic partnership with TechEquity, an initiative led by G20 Empower and supported by the Indian Government’s Ministry of Women and Child Development, to offer free online courses for women across India and beyond.

This collaboration is aimed at advancing professional development opportunities for the women of India by providing inclusive, high-quality education and critical workplace skills.

Addressing the Gender Gap in the Digital Economy

Despite significant progress, women’s participation in the digital economy remains disproportionately low in many parts of the world, particularly in emerging markets. According to G20 Empower, supporting gender equality is essential to drive innovation, social equity, and economic resilience. TechEquity was born out of this mission, as a centralised platform dedicated to equipping women with tools to thrive in the technology-driven economy.

By hosting Alison’s globally recognised CPD-accredited courses, TechEquity is tackling a pressing challenge around the world: ensuring that all women, regardless of socio-economic background, can access education that fuels independence, personal growth, and leadership.

Diverse Course Offerings for Skills Development

TechEquity now offers curated courses from Alison in key areas, such as digital literacy, coding, and software skills; entrepreneurship and business fundamentals; career development and soft skills for professional success; and personal development, sustainability, and leadership skills.

Courses are available for free, with self-paced and mobile-friendly access via the Alison platform. Users can earn certifications and build career-ready portfolios that reflect globally relevant knowledge and in-demand skills.

Impact and Benefits of the Partnership

The Alison–TechEquity partnership directly benefits women in India who are aiming to enter or advance in the workforce, rural learners seeking digital upskilling and remote education, and employers and communities that are looking for pipelines of skilled and diverse talent.

Women now have the power to overcome financial and geographic barriers to learning and employment. They are acquiring the skills to participate meaningfully in the digital economy — and inspiring transformative change in their communities.

A Vision for Inclusive Economic Empowerment

“Partnering with TechEquity and G20 Empower allows us to take real, practical steps toward inclusive economic empowerment,” said Mike Feerick, CEO of Alison. “Education is the greatest equaliser - and through this initiative, we’re not only supporting women’s growth, we’re strengthening communities, workforces, and futures.”

This partnership marks a significant step in Alison’s global strategy to expand gender equity through accessible education. Looking ahead, Feerick said Alison plans to deepen its engagement with employability-focused initiatives, multilingual course offerings, and government and NGO-led workforce development programmes worldwide.

With TechEquity now live and hosting Alison’s world-class learning resources, the movement for inclusive, skills-based education is gaining momentum and creating a lasting impact far beyond the classroom.
