    Classification of data is the process of arranging data on the basis of uniform or homogeneous characteristics. 
    There are four different types of classification of data:
     

    Geographical classification Data is be classified by area, such as country, state, district, or zone.
    Chronological classificationData is classified by periods of time, such as weeks, months, or years.
    Qualitative classificationData is classified according to a quality or an attribute, such as color of eyes or favorite subject in school.
    Quantitative classificationData is classified according to quantity, such as height, weight, age, or test scores.
