With some basic requirements of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 has some additional requirements as well. The basic requirements from ISO 9001:2015 are:

Nonconformity and corrective action (Clause - 10.2)

The company must have a documented process for problem-solving including:
• Defined approaches for numerous types and scale of issues and problems (for example current manufacturing issues, new product development, field failures, audit findings)• Interim actions, containment, and related activities needed for control of nonconforming outputs (Check ISO 9001, Clause - 8.7)• Root cause analysis, methodology utilized, analysis, and results
