    Energy Management
Energy management incorporates operations and planning functions of energy generation and energy usage & consumption units. Planning includes Energy Objectives, which are resource optimization to minimize the energy consumption patterns, and ultimately it leads to cost savings. The users have the required access to the energy they require but the optimization of energy is the core focus. Energy management is also interrelated with environmental management system (See Alison's course on ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System), operations & production management system, supply chain systems and other developed business functions. Energy management system - EnMS is the proactive, collaborative and systematic cohesion of supply, conversion, distribution and utilization of energy to comply with the requirements, with the consideration of environmental and profitability objectives.

One of the primary measures for well-planned energy optimization & control program; is the energy assessment of the baseline. This study critically examines the pattern of energy consumption at present by that specific organization. This study is crucially important to make the reference point for future improvements and making the organization energy efficient. Energy-efficient measures can enhance current energy consumption patterns.
