The course outlines the various coaching styles and techniques, influences on fitness, motivational factors, injuries, sports psychology and the role of the coach. The free online course will be of interest to physical education teachers, students studying for a qualification in health or fitness, trainers or managers in fitness, health or sports related activities, and any sports man or woman interested in coaching styles and techniques.

  • After completing this course you will know the effectiveness of a coach when improving team perfomance and the elements that need to be considered to be a good coach. You will gain a good understanding of coaching styles and techniques. This course will help you to understand legal ergogenic aids such as nutrition, creatine, sodium bicarbonate, colostrum, re-hydration and many more important factors that need to be considered in physical activity. You will be more aware of illegal ergogenic aids such as amphetamines, ephedrine, beta-blockers, caffeine, anabolic steroids and many others. You will learn about sports psychology, limits to performance, sporting injuries, and how physical activity affects different social groups as children, teenagers, adults and the elderly. This course will highlight the importance of promoting physical education with positice and negative factors.
