Jacqueline Broomfield United States of America Communication with the patient is all important. Kindness, trying to understand how the patient is feeling, giving as much encouragement as possible and allowing them to feel they are part of the equation in their health care and well-being. False optimism is not needed, but one can live 'as well as possible' with an illness or disease and encouragement to look forward with some hope of being able to do this, may be beneficial. 2014-12-30 23:12:24
