Introduction to Music Theory

Music theory, one of our top online music classes, is the analysation of how music works - by studying the notation and language of music. Unlike other online music lessons, Introduction to Music Theory introduces the basic concepts and terms needed to discuss melody and harmony. Concepts covered include interval, major and minor keys and scales, triads, chords and beginning harmonic analysis.
The course is suitable for teens or adults with no background in music theory but some familiarity with reading common notation and playing an instrument (or singing).

Oata Tuatagaloa Samoa I think the course reinforced some of the things I knew as a musician, but also the clarification and explanation of other important aspects of chord structure, different intervals and the relationships of minor and major keys, especially through the circle of fifths. A great course for every musician just beginning or in the intermediate levels 2015-10-29 20:10:46

Daniel Kochanik United Kingdom Very detailed course in my view. I went to musical school (classical) at the age of 6, and the basic theory was taught during first 4 years. So I would say that this course covers at least first two years. 2015-05-30 20:05:47
