A firewall protects a computer or network from network-based attacks and filters data packets traversing the network. This course will first discuss network security and introduce you to the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model and the three generations of firewalls. You will then look into the function of the Network Access Protection (NAP), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).
