This free online course aims to clarify the role, responsibilities and implications for the school following parental separation.
It provides an overview on parental separation and the rights of parents, custody disputes and the courts, children in care, school communication and school collection requirements according to parental status. A sample Custody & Separation Policy and some useful links are provided as well as answers to some of the most frequently asked questions in this area. This short course is relevant to school principals, teachers, ancillary staff and even parents/guardians of school-going children. For the purpose of this course, the child is referred throughout in the singular format.
