This course begins by discussing the social rules one must observe when in the Middle East to help make your stay a good experience. You will learn that during Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset and you must avoid eating and drinking in public areas during fasting hours. When visiting holy sites, you must maintain a worshipful quiet spirit and cover-up. You will also learn that you must refrain from expressing political opinions in public.
You will then learn how to greet people upon entering a room. With this course, you will also learn that not answering a person's greeting is considered a sin in Islam. You will learn that you have to drink tea when invited to and do as others do such as removing the shoes when entering a room. You will also learn how to refuse drinks such as coffee, taking note that you must have two cups when offered, no more, no less.
