  • This free online course in our Biology suite examines natural selection, patterns of evolution and molecular biology. It also explores DNA, protein synthesis and mutations and gene mapping. It is a practical guide for those working in life sciences who want to refresh their knowledge of biology or for any student of biology studying the subject at second level.

  • Upon completion of this course you will effectively know the natural process of species such as their evolution, structure, body function and behaviour. You will be more familiar with biochemical comparisons, fossils and human evolution. You will gain a good understanding of phylogenetic trees, relative dating, population genetics, pedigrees and inheritance. You will have a good knowledge of Mendel's work in the science of genetics. This course will help you to calculate results using the Punnett square method. You will learn about tools, techniques of the biotechnologist and artificial synthesis of DNA. You will effectively learn successful exam techniques.
