World Wellbeing Week (27 June \u2013 1 July) is a reminder for everyone, regardless of age, background, or station in life, of the importance of wellbeing to our lives and livelihoods. We\u2019ve put together a few tips to help you improve some of these wellbeing areas and the free Alison courses you can enrol in to help get you there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pursuit of wholeness and one\u2019s \u201cwellbeing\u201d has over the last few years, become vital to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">our lives. We\u2019ve learned how it contributes to our capacity to take on everyday tasks, be <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">joyful, and adapt to the ebb and flow of life. Wellbeing is the art of developing comprehensive, holistic, and healthy habits that result in better physical and mental health. Our wellbeing is made up of different components like financial, physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Each one plays in informing who we are.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Financial<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA person either disciplines his finances or his finances disciplines him.\u201d With economic <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">downturns, threats of recessions, rising food, fuel costs and inflation, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/alison.com\/course\/financial-wellness-personal-cash-flow-management\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">financial stability and economic welfare<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has never been more important. This refers to the state where an individual can meet all their current financial obligations, have confidence in their financial future and be able to enjoy life in the present.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tips to become financially sound:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t spend money before you have it<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live beneath your means<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Draw up a budget and stick to it<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plan for your retirement<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Know how much you have coming in and how much is going out<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Decrease your debt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be cautious with credit<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Save<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Money has one language: save me today; and it will save you tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Physical<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your physical health is more the absence of disease in the body. Instead, it speaks to the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">overall lifestyle choices that include diet, sleep, exercise to ensure your body performs at its <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most optimum level and you can get through the day without fatigue and physical stress. You\u2019re never too young, or old, to invest in and look after your body. Small everyday changes can get you on your way.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tips to improve your physical health:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10 000 steps, 30 minutes of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/alison.com\/course\/kundalini-yoga-with-lisa-grail\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">physical activity<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or exercise \u2013 get your body moving<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hydrate. Drink lots of water<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get 6-8 hours of sleep every night<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adopt a healthy diet, limit alcohol intake<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These boost your energy levels, improve your sleep, reduces lethargy, and gives you that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">extra spring in your step. You wake up feeling good and have a sense that you have everything you need to conquer the day ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Mental<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our mental health affects everything we do (and don\u2019t do), how we think, live, and feel. And <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">state of wellbeing enables us to cope better with the daily challenges of life and helps us <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">thrive in relationships, at work, home, play and make healthy choices. Mental wellbeing is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">something you can work on everything else we may face.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Tips to improve your state of mind:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practice mindfulness. Be aware of your thought patterns and think about what you think about. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/alison.com\/course\/build-your-self-esteem\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Positive thinking<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can influence your feelings<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn a new skill or take up a new course.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make time for leisure and relaxation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Develop a nutritious and healthy diet and lifestyle<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sleep<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connect with friends and family<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reduce time spent on social media<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get help<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Emotional<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We experience a wide range of emotions \u2013 sadness, happiness, anger, frustration, fear, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">anxiety, joy. Sometimes all in a day. This is perfectly normal and says nothing else except <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that we are human. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our emotional health and wellness refer to one\u2019s ability to handle their emotions, to have the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">self-awareness, understanding and the acceptance of your varying emotions. It\u2019s influenced <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by a number of factors like stress, physical wellbeing, environmental factors and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">relationships.
