“My name is James Maina and I am an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants student. I have a Bachelor’s of Commerce in Accounting and am currently taking a master’s in Finance and Accounting. I aspire to be a financial consultant specialising in cash-flow management, business sustainability and tax compliance.”<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you learn about Alison?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Our lecturer at KCA University told us about Alison and invited us to discover the platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

What was your first course on Alison, and why did you choose it?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The first course I undertook was on <\/span>Quickbooks<\/span><\/a>. I needed the Accounting skills and knowledge necessary for running day to day operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Has Alison helped you secure in a new job or promotion?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes. Formerly, I was employed as a mere financial assistant. However, through Alison I received a new job as a Procurement Officer. Through the Alison platform, I have shifted mindset and become more rational and embracing of diversity. I have also honed my report writing skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favourite way to relax from studying?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Going swimming is my favourite way to relax. In addition, sometimes I’ll choose a topic I love from Alison and enjoy exploring it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are you working and what are you studying now?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I am working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, a humanitarian organisation. Furthermore, I am studying <\/span>Networking<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>IT Security<\/span><\/a> through Alison.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s next for you, in terms of education or work?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I am looking forward to soon being self-employed as I improve my technical skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you could learn absolutely anything in the world from an Alison course, what would it be?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

IT<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Auditing<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Finance<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Accounting<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What would you say to someone if they asked you about Alison? Would you recommend it and why?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I would especially recommend Alison for people who are interested in continuous learning. The reasons I prefer Alison to other platforms is it’s accessible 24\/7, has no geographical barriers, and is affordable and flexible. Alison also offers classes in a wide range of skills and disciplines. Alison has greatly enabled me to acquire applicable knowledge and to develop a deep understanding of new skills. Also with Alison, you can scroll back and relearn what you may have forgotten.
