Biology - DNA amplification
DNA amplification
Sometimes a larger sample of DNA is required than is available. For
example:
* a very small sample of DNA is picked up from skin cells or other body
tissue at the scene of a crime but is not enough to carry out a range of
tests
* samples of DNA from fossils [1] need to be amplified to analyse and
compare with present day 'relatives'. A number of methods of amplifying
(making more) DNA is available.
