Biology - Mendel's 1st law
Mendel's 1st law
From the result of many experiments, Mendel worked out the Law of
Segregation, [1] which states that members of each pair of 'factors' (now
called _alleles_) separate when gametes are produced in meiosis. Putting
together the observations of Mendel and what we now know about chromosomes,
genes, alleles and meiosis, it becomes possible to understand some basic
genetic experiments and to predict outcomes of particular crosses or
matings.
