Evolution

The gradual change over time in populations of organisms related by
descent is commonly referred to as evolution. There are differing views on
the mechanisms put forward to explain the process of evolution. As more
evidence becomes available, some due to advances in biomolecular biology
and biotechnology, theories of evolution are modified.
