We can also measure angles as numbers, where a full circle is 360 degrees.
Some ancient astronomers thought there were 360 days in a year, so it
seemed like a good number. 360 also has a lot of useful factors (including
2,3,4,5,6, 8 and 10), so when we divide a circle up it's easy to get whole
numbers rather than fractions or decimals.
